Super happy to log in and see the updates... outstanding project!

 

Velocity stack built into the Super Cooper air box. We have found that adding a velocity stack to an intake system can add 7-12 hp on most applications.

 

This velocity stack, is it more or less a cone helping to create, well.... velocity?

 

Basically yes, it smooths the air flow so that more can get into the hole.

 

Great job done by you , keep on sharing the updates and pictures.

 

shoudn't have opened this thread, oh the possibilities. I wonder if anyone ever used a dual cam motor in the r53 boosted.

The turbo plumbing fab work is complete with the new Air Box intake pipe.

Very lengthy project
The ultimate Mini though, can't wait to see the finished car

 

We have finally got the Race Super Cooper running a tuned. Its headed to the track for shake down Aug 18-19. Here's a video of it on the dyno.

Pics from the track. The hood straps broke at 140mph+ on the back straight. We are building new carbon fiber roof, hood, bumper, doors, diffuser and widebody for it now

 

I'm sure that was a butt hole pucker moment!!!!!

 

Yeah it was exciting. It put me off because I hit the brakes to hard and put the car in a slide but I got off the brakes and drove it back out of the grass and on to the track and back to the pits. We pulled the hood and ran it the rest of the day.
