JCW JCW Wheel Options

JCW Wheel Options
OK ... down to the wire on final order. Based on forum input, I think all else is solidified.
Final question:
- 17' Track Spoke wheels ... no cost and I can replace with whatever I want. Not a fan of the black wheels, but not enamored with the silver ones either. Price is right so I can easily replace with aftermarket.
- 18' Cup Spoke wheels ... minimal added cost and look great. A bit narrow, but probably OK. Biggest issue is weight .. they are heavy ... but should I care?
Appreciate your feedback ... you've really helped refine my order.

I have the CUP 18" wheels and love them. A caveat is I replaced the original runcraps after ripping a sidewall on the TOD with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. They are expensive but a great tire as the ride is stellar and the grip and performance is excellent. I have never been a runflat fan as they are heavy, stiff and rough riding, noisy, and the grip is inadequate for performance driving. I carry a VIAR compressor, Dynaplug kit, and a large can of Slime aerosol just in case. It is supposed to be sensor safe, but I will toast a sensor if necessary to avoid a lengthy wait for a roll back. I have seen some really nice after market wheels, but can't bring myself to spend the bucks, the Cups look good on the mini. And they are relatively easy to clean and maintain. The JCW PRO exhaust is a terrific feature, but pricey. It will add 8-9 HP and it sounds great, there are some issues with the bluetooth controller if you use other bluetooth devices in the car, but there are quick fixes available.

It all comes down to personal preference, but I personally love the Cup Spoke wheels and constantly receive complements on them. I believe they are around 25 lbs per wheel, so certainly not light, but I'm not one who does auto cross events so I'm not sure how much I won't notice on the street. Take my opinion with a grain of salt as I'm also someone that likes the pirelli run flats, so I may be certifiably insane

Thanks all ... despite my inclination for 17's, Cup Spokes win. Whether I keep or dump the run-flats remains to be seen.
I am going with DDC for a variety of reasons, although sway bar mods may be in the cars. I like the standard sports suspension, but where I live (FL) we have few good driver's roads and very spotty quality. I will post full build when final.

I agree with you completely, I/we rarely track the mini, but we do a lot of spirited, backroad twisties, and they perform adequately for our uses. There weren't any aftermarket options when we ordered our F56 in June of 2015 and I wanted the 18" wheels. I have considered ordering a GP when and if they offer one at the end of the life cycle of the F series, but I really like the back seat and I am not particularly fond of the color scheme of the GPs if they stick with it. But, it is a performance notch above the JCW.

I went with the Track Spoke in Silver, mostly because I don't like black wheels or so little meat on Ohio roads. I don't love them, so they're my winter wheels. I've got these guys in my office waiting for warmer weather. Can't wait
17x7 ET45 ~17.5lb per corner. OutMotoring indicated that they have two other F56 JCW customers with them and they fit. Like the JCW challenge wheel, but in a color I like

Edit: Gulp. They do not fit without spacers. I'll post more over here when I have a moment: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...thread-34.html

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN Sweet Wheels!!!
WoW, awesome look!
I went down the wrong path (they had a promo on the tire and wheel warranty) on the oem 17" black OEM wheels. And for the next 4 years, I am covered against all wheel damage, and tires.
I am not covered if I change over the wheels. Hence, I will run the 17" until further ado...
But the 18" spoke JCW are the one's to get.

My Dealer where I bought my JCW is awesome...
I called my Dealer, and was quoted a price lower than the OEM Suggested List price. As well, I do not know the reason why, but the tire and wheel package in Canada from the Dealer is much less than the equivalent package price from the USA dealers.
The bonus, is that my dealer is telling me that they would be covered from the same Mini Canada Tire and Wheel warranty when I buy the JCW 18" 506 Spoke Wheel from them ($2700cdn for the Rims and Dunlop summer RFT).
Can't go wrong with that...
Cheers

I think the original price in the US for the 506's was $3100 for wheels, tires, centercaps, and TPMS sensors. MINIUSA was allegedly trying to close out the last few sets so I paid $2500. I ordered the car with the 18" Cup Spokes with the intention of selling them but decided to keep them. $750 for a complete ready to use set is too good a deal just to sell cheap.

The one saving grace...
I forgot to mention, in Canada we do not require the TPMS sensors per wheel, since we use a rotational method of detecting pressure loss in the tires.
Hence we save the Hundred or so cost per tpms sensor required per wheel. But everything else is even steven.
Cheers

Good thread here with the F56 fitment and JCW fitment options: The TPMS are also linked in the thread. Make sure you get the newest Gen 3 TPMS, some people have been getting the wrong ones from other stores. 36106856209 or
