Finally got the RPF1/RE-71s mounted. Here's a before and after shot. And for those interested I included a backside clearance shot to the front strut. Sorry about the after shot, it's sunny today.
Before - 205/45R17 500TW on factory wheels 17 X 7 et:54
After - 215/45R17 200TW on Enkei RPF1 17 X 7.5 et:48
Oh, and I'm coming clean. I did something I haven't done in 36 years, bought another tire brand other than Michelins.
So I am interested in the Enkei RPF1's in 17 X 7.5 et:48
Is 215/45R17 the biggest I can go? I can't go 225/45R17?
Now if I lower the car with the NM RS-Alpha Spring Set will it cause issues with the HID headlamps? I ask this because my other car when I lowered it just a little the beams where not further out and I took it to the dealership where they adjusted the beam with the computer to point a little more up.
Lowering it will it cause issues on the self park sensors?
All the help I appreciate I just want to get the right package for the Mini and if I am missing something that will help let me know.
It's been a few weeks, but I just installed these Alzor wheels. 17x7.5 et45. According to my data, they should just fit over the JCW brakes, maybe requiring a 3 mm spacer,
Well, someone else beat me to it. TD Pro Race 1.2 in 17x7.5 ET45 do fit (pics included): http://www.minif56.com/forum/showthread.php?p=663138

Yes indeed!....those look sweet! I suppose the ET45's are a better fit than ET40 for those wheels....but maybe they only come ET45? I still prefer 18's though, but those look very nice!

Nope, you can get them in any size or offset you like. OutMotoring has drop downs for all the relevant specs, and can even get them if they're not listed there.

Good to know...thanks Matt. Here's hoping your wait is a short one!
O.Z. Rally Racing +45mm 18x8 225-35-18 with no spacers, lots of clearence to JCW calipers. flush in the front, could use 8mm or so in rear to sit flush. still a WIP

Well,I pulled the plug on the TDs. I talked to the distributor in California and, after a few straight days of broken promises on updates, came to the conclusion that they weren't going to come anytime soon.
I ordered a set of 17x8 ET45 Enkei TS9s like ryanschram and a dude from another forum I frequent, which should fit just fine and look good enough to me. They're about 18.7lbs, so still pretty light. Should only poke ~1mm more than the NM wheels (which no human eyes would ever notice anyways). They'll have a little stretch, but pics don't seem to make it look too atrocious. These wheels don't have much lip and the Conti EC Sports have beefy sidewalls.
Got the Enkei TS9 on in 17x8 ET45. Used 72.6mm to 66.56mm hubcentric rings and the factory lugs to mount them. The Continental ExtremeContact Sport in a 215/45R17 fits. I don't mind the color next to White Silver.
They look OK to me (wife seems to like them better than I do, but they're growing on me):
They are closest to the calipers by the hub. There's maybe 2-3mm of clearance:
Hard to say if 225s would fit, but they have this much clearance from the damper:
They're pretty flush up front:
They're somewhat less flush in the rear:
One of them had an unfortunate faceplant onto asphalt, and sustained a bit of damage. It isn't too noticeable unless you're right by the wheel, though, so it should be OK. These cut just over 5LB off of each corner vs the stock track spoke + Hankook setup.
Matt, your wife has good taste! Those look stellar on your car! I wouldn't go wider than 215's, if it were mine. Just enough clearance from the strut. You could put a small spacer on the rears to line up if it bothers you. Nothing bad to say about those wheels & tires! Nicely done!

Thanks! I'm happy with it as well. I don't think there's any need for spacers at all. The fit looks just right to me! Nice and light, turn in seems nice and crisp, and they don't poke or look crazy stretched. All in all, it's as good as I could hope for.
Glad you went with them. I have them too. I love the look
Me too. I was a little concerned about the color matching up with White Silver, but it goes together pretty well. Might need a mild drop to complete the look, but they look good and the crisp turn-in from the wide wheel is excellent.
RPF1's don't....i'm being vague but i pressed a vendor on this information as the original response seemed generic...i was returned a more detailed response that they simply do not fit...period....i was also told to keep the information confidential. sorry bud, that's all i got. do i still want to try for myself? yeah....but i kinda give up for now.
Can someone confirm this? I see ECS selling them and I don't see disclaimer that it won't clear BBK!!

We can fit 225/45/17 RE71R's on our RPF1 17x7.5 (I believe the +48, whatever Tirerack sells to fit the F56 S), no issues as long as the ride height isn't too low, which shouldn't be a problem for lowering springs. Every tire runs a bit different and such, so you've still got some risk, but this is something at least.
Edit: Shoot, I just realized I don't think we ever checked clearance to stock struts on these wheels/tires, we're running a set of KW's so I may have spoken too soon :(

Tirerack fitment is usually pretty conservative, if they don't list it as fitting (which they don't for a '15 JCW) odds are it doesn't fit (or maybe it's problematic). RPF1's are known for not clearing bbk's depending on how exactly the spoke design comes out. Maybe you could space it out far enough and get extended lugstuds, but that's a hefty gamble.
This thread helped us a lot, so giving back a little for once.

other than confirming physically, i will repeat what i said previously. i reached out (read: hammered) to tirerack and the rep very kindly assured me that there was NO WAY it will fit. even better, while it was able to somewhat clear (very tight) the moment you put weights to balance it, you were done.

What do you mean by "it" the rpf1? The 225 tire? The bbk? Which model mini? **** is so nuanced with these cars it's unbelievable.
The set pictured above (17x7.5 w/ 225/45/17) was ordered from the tirerack website as fitting a '14 F56 Hardtop S, they arrived on the doorstep mounted and balanced and bolted right up. When I checked last night before posting their website still lists them as fitting this car.
Cheers!

take that for what it's worth.
Thank you MarcoPolo for reconfirm that IT WON'T FIT! I was going to order from ECS after spoke to one of their Rep couple days ago. I was going to order it this morning. You just save me whole bunch of headach. Thanks again!
