New Mini R56 S Hardtop

Hello all, Just wanted to check in. I'm mostly a lurker. Although I will be asking questions to help make sure I make the best choices for the Mini.
Looking forward to learning.

Well, we just got it last Sunday. It's a Pepper white 2013 Cooper S Hardtop.
Somehow the salesman convinced us it was special. It does have the black wheels and black headlamp "liners"? So far I have not seen another.....but it's only been a few days. Some friends of ours we used to ride Motorcycles with a few years ago had his and her mini's and took my wife and I on a jaunt through the North GA mountains. My wife was hooked and now she finally got "hers". I think she'll let me drive it some?? So pics to come. We're taking it on a Mountain ride tomorrow. I'll be sure and get some. Thanks for the warm welcome.

You will not know what you have until you head up into the mountains and do some twisties. Friend of mine that did a Blue Ridge Parkway Tour with the local mini club calls Minis "mountain goats" now.

Exactly....

and we did that today! And we both said WOW!! and some other things I won't share. Took a trip up 129 between Dahlonega and Blairsville. I know this road well as I have taken it many times on my motorcycle.
The mini was very impressive. My wife...,who loves to zoom it up....said to me TWICE...."slow down a little bit....slow down a little bit now". I couldn't do it. This thing was hugging and scooting thru every curve like a go cart with a big block....,we'll not quite...but pretty impressive. We zoomed around all day enjoying the torque and the smell of an engine after a workout. Can't wait until tomorrow ! WOOT!!!

Beautiful car. I just got a 2013 Mini Cooper S in Iced Chocolate. Apparently it is special too. JCW tuning kit, JCW exhaust, Anthracite headliner, extra gauge pods. I've never seen another Iced Chocolate Mini before.

That is a very sharp car. It would look awesome in my garage next to "Pepper"!

Your wheels look like different spoke shape. Maybe there was more than one stock type? Or those are not stock? What is the "JCW tuning kit"? Is that the intake kit I see around?
Does the exhaust use a larger downpipe? I hear that is where the HP comes from. Not so much the catback.

The wheels are replica R112 JCW wheels. The original wheels were a black five spoke.

The tuning kit is ECU, Manifold, intake, and a few other bits I'm unsure of. The previous owner also had a coolant and torque gauge pods installed around the tach. The JCW exhaust is a full cat back. It's a nice car. Too bad I don't own a garage. Traded in my second mini, a 2011 Clubman non-S. A friend is building for me a 2008 Mini Cooper S JCW that will be a race car for the weekends. It'll have lots more upgrades and more power than my new Mini.
