We're sad to announce that Welly (#25 on the list) is getting ready to leave Colorado next week. He has a new family waiting for him in Pennsylvania, and he's getting excited about seeing another part of the USA.
I bought this mini last April, it had 51000 miles and one owner. Great car so far, love the looks I get from all the big trucks around here in South Georgia.
Just took my R-52 in to dealer for 50k service - $679 US for oil change, filters, spark plugs - the plugs alone were $190 - is this typical?
I just did all that for under $200 myself and that included new plug wires, all the filters. I do all the work on my cars myself though. I have never heard of plugs costing $190. Wow!

I found a used Sidewalk edition Cooper S on the internet for sale, and am wondering what the Interior Light Package is.
Is that the multi-color overhead and side pillar lighting that came with the Gen 2 Coupes? Or is it only single color on the Sidewalk edition and other cabrios through 2008? Or does it refer to something else entirely.
They came standard with overhead lights ( map , overhead, foot well etc. )and then those dash matching orange waterfall lights and orange lights under the toggle bank when you have the headlights / parking lights on.
You can change over the interior lights to Ziza LEDs and really helps the convertible , as when I did mine , improves the lighting. The kit is for halogen > LED. The Orange leds on the overhead / under toggle bank stay the same. Full kit is free ship.
I don't have current photos, but I remember worrying about the malt being too orange when I first saw photos. But its not orange at all, at least to my eyes. I
have had the car since 2008 and love it (and its coloring) as much as the first time I laid eyes on it. But it is a "sparkling silver" model (never got that -- looks gold or bronze to me).

So I bought this Mini Sidewalk and 30 minutes later someone tried to rip the drivers door off with their jeep. Then I got it home and realized that the previous owner had done zero maintenance of the car. Oil was black. Trans fluid black. Hole in the exhaust. Timing tensioner shot. Heck there were even many pieces of used gum stuck to the inside of the door! I imagine the supercharger needs new oil as well. Luckily it only has 82k miles so I think it will run OK once everything is fixed. One thing I noticed about mine that's different from most Sidewalk editions is my air intake is chrome. Seems like most are body colored?
