You have to make sure when you do this its free and not locked too much, also you need to make sure the internal lock is ok and not just failed.
Most likely you did not mess it up but the ignition part might be bad.

You can do that. Just like web spokes:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-question.html
If you did not have 4 pot JCW brakes on the front you could run 16" R90. Which are 51% off. 36116775855 Also have all the r90's there.

Missing Commemorative Plate
Hey! I've got it in my head today that I MUST find out the number out of 1000 that mine is. The number plate is missing and unfortunately in the MC40 registry, it's not sorted by VIN. When I bought her and realized it was an MC40, we ran a car fax. I know she's stayed in GA and AL her whole life. I'm in the process of reaching out to dealerships about her. I thought maybe, just maybe, I might have some luck asking here. The VIN is WMWRE33404TD88845. Thanks!
EDIT: I got ahold of MINI of Kennesaw and confirmed that my Veronica is #911 out of 1000!!

Guys and gals...
Looking to gauge interest in my MC40. I've put a lot of time into the maintenance recently but just had the flywheel come apart. Wife says it needs to go before I try and start putting more money into it.
2nd owner since 16k miles. Now has 143k ish. R90's are in need of a refresh (paint on lips peeling) and new tires. The clutch/trans needs maintenance. This MC40 has all its bits (shift ****, floor mats, number plate on console (#807), carbon dash with JCW logo...)
Replaced:
Front ball joints (inner and outer both sides)
LCA bushings (powerflex)
Right upper engine mount (new stock unit)
New axle assemblies (both sides)
Replaced struts with used (low mile) units and refreshed the spring pads (rubber bits between spring and seats)
New coil pack, plugs and wires
M7 2% OD crank pulley
Cravenspeed 15% SC pulley
DDM intake with silicone intake pipe
DDM IC diverter
MINI Mania 22mm rear sway with poly bushings.
Replaced rear strut bearing on drivers side (pass side still needs replaced)
Replaced rear MC40 decals but never got around to installing the new bonnet decals.
New left front wheel bearing
Head replaced at 130k miles with used unit from Daveke (35k miles on replacement). Cylinder 2 plug shot out and stripped the threads. Helicoil wouldn't work so I replaced the whole head. During this I replaced:
Head gasket, supercharger inlet/outlet seals, throttle body gasket, BPV upgraded to facelift unit, replaced MAF sensors pre and post SC. emptied and replaced SC fluid, intake manifold and exhaust manifold gaskets, valve cover gasket and plug seals, replaced oil pump rings and seals, belt tensioner and idler pulley replaced, timing chain, chain guides, chain tensioner, cam gear, flushed oil coolant and steering fluid and refilled all with fresh.
I tried posting a while ago but interest was slim and offers were very low. I'd like to get about $2k for it as is. It starts and runs strong but no power gets from the crank to the transmission. Believe the flywheel is separated and needs replaced. I figured it would be best to see if anyone in here would be interested since we know the value of these MC40's.
Cross posting in the For Sale section but wanted to make sure you all appreciative MC40 owners get to see it first.

Been a great MINI for the last 10 years. I hated to see her go but life keeps moving right? Keep us posted here! I'd love to see what the next phase is!
