2006 GP look-alike?
I have a 2006 Cooper S that had the external look of a GP car (spoiler, red mirrors, painted calipers, GP eighteen inch wheels, etc.) No other GP markings. Are there many other cars out there like mine? Was this a dealer package? I have the standard interior with rear seat, sunroof and all other options. It is dark gray with black roof. Thanks.

Put picture of car in Google Photos. Hard to see the rear spoiler but it is a GP item. Ran VIN when I bought the car and it came up as a Cooper S with every option. Just haven't seen any other GP look alike cars around, so was curious there was an exterior kit or just each part sold separately. Interior is standard Cooper (no GP markings).

Whoever bought the car might have added all the exterior accessories because he couldn't get a GP. Or, the owner wanted to have all the creature comforts of the S model with the looks of the GP...

you can upload the photo right to nam so we can see it
but it wont do any good, anyone can add cosmetic stuff, and those big heavy wheels are polarizing and not really for track use so they come up for sale often
in fact, anyone could fully convert a r53 into a gp just swap all the parts over, blimey did this and has a convertible GP track car after he rolled his GP.

Basically, the only reasonable way that a real GP spoiler would be on that car would be to have gotten one off a salvage GP. Actual GP spoilers require a special mount and thus a GP unique rear hatch glass. Just the spoiler and glass would have required $2k plus a dealer willing to break the rules and order that for a non-GP owner.
So if those are actual GP parts, they were purchased individually and added one by one, but I seriously doubt the spoiler is a Geniune GP wing unless it was salvaged.
In addition to lots of GP wheels being available via forums and etc, they also are some of cheapest 17-18in wheels available via places like ECS. Plus, there are knockoff GP wheels in both 17 and 18in sizes.
How are your front fog lights done since the GP front bumper doesn’t have them, but you said your Cooper S has all the options?

Original GP wheels will looks like this. If you look really close at the original ones will see a sharp cut off on the machined face and matte finish, the duplicate wheels will not be that clean on the finish. Also they will not have the MINI and BMW marks o the back of the wheel behind the spokes.
