Mini Cooper Window Tints
Hi all! New to the group. Recently purchased a 2018 Mini Cooper S and I'd like to tint the windows. Before choosing the level of tint, I was hoping to see some examples. If anyone has tinted their mini, can you post a photo and let me know what tint level you purchased? I'm in California, so the front two windows can't be more than 70%. Thanks a bunch! Also, here is a photo of mine!

I'm in California and all of my windows are tinted. I'm not sure what level tinting my windows are but hopefully they're within the legal standards (I have yet to be pulled over).
You should really go ask a tint shop for what amount of tint is for you. There are numerous types of materials and different shades.
Also, if you tint the rear, make sure it's the lowest percent tint possible. Otherwise, it'd be almost impossible to see in the dark.

Limo looks good, but just got to watch which state you are in and the laws. I have limo on the back windows on my R58 JCW.

Ceramic or nothing down here. If you don’t go ceramic, your tints are bubbling up before next summer! I’ve been meaning to tint the rest of my windshield but I am worried.

I've had friends get pulled over for tints in the past, and I'm a lawyer, so I try to stay out of trouble. Thanks for the advice on the back window. I'm especially looking forward to tinting the back because the headlights at night drive me crazy. I thought my mini had an auto-dimming mirror feature but now I'm not sure. My Audi S5 is wonderful at night with no mirror glare from headlights. Hoping the tint fixes the problem.
I realized my new mini didn’t have auto dim either after about a day, coming from a 2000 Lexus that had it. It’s terrible, that rear view mirror sucks, and I’ll just have to deal with it for about another 16 months. The 15% tint doesn’t really help much, to be honest.

In Florida, I had my guy follow the state law. Went with max tint on side and rear windows, kept the windshield clean.
- Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
- Front Side windows: Must allow more than 28% of light in.
- Back Side windows: Must allow more than 15% of light in.
- Rear Window: Must allow more than 15% of light in.

Just had my '15 MCS tinted at a local shop, 3M crystalline, and I love it. The Texas heat is brutal, and damn if my car isn't cool every single morning. Such a noticeable difference. As a lawyer, I also like to stay on the correct side of the law, so my tint is legal AND looks great. I'll post some pics shortly.

I live in Texas and we know tint here. Like Florida it is a matter of survival. I like the best combination of visibility and protection. Look into 3M Crystalline. Great protection even at a 70% light transmission. They make a CR70 that would work for you and keep it legal.
Another Houston Mini enthusiast? Are you a member of the Houston BMW Car Club? They do some "gentleman racing" down at the police track weekends and Minis are happily invited! There must be more of us Houston Mini enthusiasts around...

It's my wife's car actually. I used to be a member of the BMW car club but I no longer have a BMW. We got one of the first F56 Minis in the US. It was stuck in the port waiting for the EPA testing. It looks like new to this day. She really loves the car and will likely buy a Mini as her next car.

Just to help people looking for other options....
35% ceramic, all the way around (nothing on the windshield) including the sunroof....
I do not need the black-out for darker tint, I was more looking for the heat reduction from the ceramic. I still find the back darker than I thought it might be too.
