they are going for as low as $749 in eBay, but every so often, eBay will do the "EVERYTHING 15% OFF!" days (usually runs for only 24 hours) but the savings top off at $100, which is still pretty good because that makes the Megan coilovers $650 shipped and tax free if the seller is NOT in your state
There's a story here...please also see the attachments...
I'm "Minishusband" -- and I'm a Vette guy. A few years back, my Vette was incapacitated at the time of our Corvette Club's annual spring "kickoff cruise" (that's right -- Vettes "Cruise," not "Motor.") We were not about to miss a good country ride (ending, as always, at a wonderful breakfast buffet), and knew the feisty, overacheiving MINI Cooper S, with sport suspension, would have no problems keeping up on the back roads. But, we needed to stick with the theme. And so, some artwork (C6 logos to honor the laid-up Vette).
Additionally, just for fun, we sampled revving sounds from a Vette engine with an aftermarket exhaust. As we arrived at the designated meeting spot (of course, we had told nobody that we were taking the MINI), we set the stereo to 11, rolled down the windows, and played the massive blast of V8 power through the MINI's robust sound system. The ground shook, my fellow Vettesters turned en masse to see what beast was pulling into the lot, and, well -- this is what they saw! One of the gang came running up and asked "What the heck have you put in this thing?" He of course took a well-earned raft of crap from us (once I was able to stop laughing).
So indeed we had a good laugh -- and a GREAT cruise. Surprisingly (or maybe not) we are not the only members of our club who keep a MINI in the garage right next to the Vette. They are great fun, and my wife enjoys hers as much now as when we picked it up 40K miles ago (it now has 110K!!!)
