Weekend Drive to Prescott, Arizona
#26
Just thought I'd mention that Prescott Valley has a LOT of radar and the tickets are close to $200. They do have it on some sections of the road up to Jerome.
I've also seen a fair number of police as you leave Jerome and go down through Cottonwood and into Sedona.
I'm not sure how all of you drive, but wanted to extend the warning.
I'm coming along with the Clubby for sure, but if you go really fast I'll catch up later. Don't want to make any contributions to the state coffers, even though my Valentine always travels with me.
Generally going up to Jerome I get stuck behind a motorhome, but eventually they pull over or you reach the top. We used to take Rich's Miata up there when he could drive. The dropoffs and vistas are amazing no matter how long you live here.
I used to drive with the Z3 club years ago, but when they hit over 110 up at Flagstaff's logging roads I dropped back and met them later at the stop. It made me feel like an old lady driver, but at least we arrived alive. Too many logging trucks, antelope, bikers to play at those speeds.

Good idea to watch the road. It's a lonnnggg way down!
Actually I had brain surgery about 19 years ago and ever since I find really twisty roads at fast speeds aren't the best for my equilibrium. Might have been different if it didn't take 21 years for the doctors to listen to me before they found the tumor.
I'll just be happy to be at the back of the pack behind all the handsome Minis ahead.

Cant wait till next Saturday. I think I'll have to do a drive by Friday night to see all of you at the hotel. A lot of the hot rod clubs stay at the Prescottonian for their meets.
The Prescott Country Inn across from my bear shop on Montezuma St. (aka Whiskey Row, but 4 block south) has just been purchased and is being restored as an old style Motor Inn. It will be catering to motorcycle and car club groups. I love what those two guys are doing to it from top to bottom. Maybe on your next run over...
See you Friday and Saturday. Otto can't wait to run up to Jerome with his own kind.

It's teddy bears and other stuffed animals. I bought quite a few dragons for the MOTD event and put them on my Ebay store but only sold one so I put them in the shop instead.
I don't have as much inventory as I used to as I have the property for sale and have stopped buying. People who come in think I have a lot, but it is nothing compared to what I used to have. Once Prescott let so many big box stores in the little stores started to go out of business (over 52 in the past couple of years).
I'll be at the shop Friday till 4:30 or so, but I am closing it Saturday so I can go along with you. I have no help there, just me. But if anyone is interested I can always go open it for you to look around. No problem with going down there any time. I love the old house the animals live in--a 1924 house that just feels good to be in (plus I have a nice ghost who drops in occasionally).

What a gorgeous day! Thanks for letting us Arizonans tag along today!
"Mini" Mart on the way down the hill from Jerome... i think we missed the 24 hours they were open
Lunch in Sedona... who designed this parking lot arrangement??
A big thanks to the SCMC for letting us join in on their fun while in Arizona! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and have a safe trip home tomorrow!

Yeah, tell me, i was leading the group, and finally just started backing off for some room to have a little fun, and came around a corner and he was all the way across the center line in the on-coming lane. He wasn't even going fast, just driving VERY lazy and like an *** in general. Thankfully no bikes or cars were coming the other way. Red Toyota Matrix... putz.

It was a great drive to Bagdad!
Stop in Kirkland.
Taking a breather at the end of '12 miles o' terror.' Some did it twice.
My Flickr set.
Thanks for visiting my playground!
