Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
I have seen oil filters in several auto parts stores, but it is cheaper to mail order them from one of the tame MINI dealers. Most of them are NAM sponsors.
Rawhyde, any recomendations? I online order Wix filters from rockauto.com for reasonable prices but it would be good to have a real dealer in the rolo-dex for those times when I need a Mini part.
I ordered one & a few other items from the guys at the custom mini shop, they are listed in the vendor location. It was the stock oil filter from BMW for under $9 bucks.
I got the OE filters from Classic Mini for about 4 bucks as I recall.
Morristown MINI is a good source as well. I just bought 2 front wiper blades, 2 rear wiper blades, 6 oil filters, 1 cabin air filter, JCW Brake Kit, and a JCW Suspension Kit from them.
I would stick with the OEM Mann filters. myminiparts has them for a great price and ships quickly. My continual source for these type of bits and bobbles.
I've been getting mine from my local Foreign Car Parts, for about $4.95 I believe. Check to see if you have one near you. They can usually get just about anything you need for a foreign car. The one near me does a heck of a lot of business online selling Volvo parts and has a great reputation. www.fcpgroton.com
It's been over 2 years since this discussion, but a lot of these vendors are closed or not offering Mini parts anymore....where do you guys get OEM filters now?
