How to get rid of this stuff on the exhaust?

How to get rid of this stuff on the exhaust?

i have some black spots in my milltek exhaust tips, can't seem to get it off. i tried using lots of water and lots of soap and also that brake cleaner spray... but still won't rub off... has anyone have some ideas? thanks

I just use quick detailer when I wash the car, wipes right off. I don't have the spots though. Try a metal polish and cleaner.

Mothers small powerball and aluminum polish works for me. Be careful not to touch the black trim!

thanks guys, going to try the detailer and the aluminum polish on this one. those black spots make the exhaust look like it has chicken pox

I have used mothers cleaner before and it works great! I've used it on other exhaust tips.

Chrome cleaner, pretty much any brand, will make them look like new.

It's to time consuming to keep them bright and polished. All they do is catch soot and turn black so I helped them out some.
