new clutch at 107 miles (a little late on the post)
Ok... so this happened back in May and I never posted anything on it. I bought the car off the lot (actually, from their overflow lot) with 7 miles on the o.d. Had an afternoon of fun with no problems. The next morning, as I was going through an intersection, I couldn't get 2nd gear to engage. So I pulled over, came to a stop, and went to put it in 1st. Nothing. No stalling getting of the clutch. The car would start fine, it just wouldn't engage into gear. So I sat on the side of the road, in the rain, for 2 HOURS waiting for MINI roadside. After I called MINI they told me there was no request on file made by me, and put me on hold. 5 minutes pass, and she comes back, this time saying that she found my call. Ok. 5 minutes later the tow truck miraculously shows up, informing me he wasn't doing anything prior to my call, and that he just recieved the call. Nice MINI. Anyways, after 2 days of having my car, I get a call informing me that I "smoked" my clutch. They questioned what I was doing, and told me they'd cover it under waranty this time, but next time I'd have to pay They said "stay off the track until after the break in." Like thats what I was doing. Needless to say, 3,500 miles later, no "clutch smoking" Like I could possibly burn out a clutch in 100 miles.
But aside from that one "hiccup" I love the car and have had no problems.
