Ok, the car has 4689 miles on it and I'm hearing a high pitch noise while driving, so I pulled over and it's coming from the engine bay, does anyone have any idea what it could be??? It is a weird whine sound, by the way it its a 2007 mcs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It starts to happen when the car is running warm.
in a thread on wind noise abuzavi listed a video that revealed the noise his car was making. It is in his post ending with....you can hear it in the background here.
This is the same noise my 06 mcs makes at 90 or 70 with the right headwind
Does it change pitch when you try to turn the steering wheel when stationary? If so it is probably the power steering. Check fluid levels, etc., if it is fine, you should be OK. Mine does the same thing. If you are still under warranty, take it to the dealer.
I'll check it later with tthe turning. We have an appointment for Friday, it is an automatic, and I haven't any clue as to what it is, I can see that the coolant is under the min level, I wonder why it would be low already???
