so... strange issue this morning when i was coming into work. i locked my car up and noticed my driver's side fog light was on... i thought it was strange as i didn't turn my lights on at all when i drove in today...
unlocked the car, verified lights were off, and then turned them on and off and the light still stayed on. walked around back and my driver's side brake light was on too.
any ideas? i had to run into work and have been crazy all day... hopefully it turned itself off and i don't walk out to a dead battery at 6pm.
yah same thing just happend to me, when you leave your turn signal on while parked, your lights stay on. Mine did the side markers front and back, but not the fog lights... odd problem, with a rather simple solution
This is actually a safety feature. In Europe, all cars are equipped with the capability to leave the front and rear parking lamps turned on - on one side of the car only. This is useful when you are parking on a poorly lit street.
(Had a friend this happened to who pulled the fuse to keep the battery from draining... the felt like an @$$ once they realized the issue, and having spent 'happy hour' searching for the right fuse.)
now with this safety feature... does it drain the battery??
I had used this feature on few of my cars while living in Europe at the time. Never had a problem with battery draining... Then again, the ligths were not on more than 8 hours
curious to try but unsure if i want to drain my battery.... who knows may use it may not.. granted my side markers are tinted; which i might add looks sweet if anyone is looking to do it.
