Help: 30K mile Inspection - Checklist

Hi all,
I have 2003 MCS and I need to take the car to the mechanic for 30K maintenance. I called my Mini Dealer and they told me that it will cost me around $970. Then I called the mechanic shop near by, and he said maximum cost will be around $350.

What I wonder, What needs to be changed/fixed for 30K maintenance? My dealer send me a list pretty much everything on the list is flushing coolant/brake and inspection couple belts and brakes. He doesn't even change any part. I am waiting for the list from the mechanic shop now. How come there is a huge price difference?

I searched the forum like crazy all day yesterday however I couldn't find any checklist for the 30K maintenance. If somebody can post the it for the 30K maintenance and approximate cost that would be great.

Thank you very much,
Serdar

well it shoudn't be 30k but 25k service which is an inpection 1. the first oil change at 10k and then is 15k after. so at 25k you have your inspection 1.

do a search for inspection 1, you should see what others charge and the items replaced/inspected.

I found this information on some other forum.

What I don't understand how come Mini calculates how many miles car can go without the inspection. My MCS at 28K and It still says i have 750 miles left until the Inspection. BTW my car doesn't mention if it Inspection 1 or 2 or the oil change.
