"Well, can someone tell me who actually makes the OEM sparkplugs for MINI? Is it NGK? Bosch? Who?"

MINI OEM plugs are made by NGK. The only difference is that they come with the MINI logo stamped on them.

Also.. after the well informed 3 pages of knowledge here. The cause of the plug blowing out was the plug loosened up, worked back and forth and then blew out, taking all the treads with it!! NOT the spark plug its self!! SOOOOoooo... always when you are detailing the engine bay , or changing the oil, check to make sure the plugs are in tight! Torqued to mfg specs!! cool??

FYI: increasing boost .. CHANGE the heat range colder !! I use Autolite-APP3923 1 step colder/ APP3922 2 step colder/ APP3911 3 steps OR NGK BK7E1X-11 then BKR8E1x11 or DENSO IK22 and then IK24 !

On a dyno run with 20K on my engine 15% pulley.. my stock BMW plugs were
breaking down so bad we had to stop the pull at 6K !! Went to 1 step colder Autolite.. modified the gap. And have NO issues with ign at all since!!

Doing Heads.. we have found that a LOT of the pullied MCS will have fine cracks at the exh and intake seats by the plug threads!! This IS do to the heat and the stock heat range plugs after a pulley is added!! SOOOooo.... gota pulley?? Dont fool yourself that all is well!! Colder PLUGS!!!

Thumper what is your opinion on running JCW plugs? They seem like they almost have to be a "colder" range plug with the smaller pulley than an S but still retain the "factory" look and warranty. Any thoughts?

BTW: I'm running a Alta 17% with IK22's and they blew out on me late last week. Thinking about trying out the JCW and keeping the warranty on my car in case this happens again.

changing plugs will not be an issue with the warranty!! Call the dealer!!! If they say it will.. then call another dealer!! Spark plugs will not cause the dealer to void any warranty!!

"Seems Like" isnt the answer.. go to a colder plug!! IF that is the JCW plug then fine!!
