Cold Shifting (Very Cold)

2003 S with 6 speed - When it is very cold, it is impossible to move the shift lever. Cold as in below 15 degrees F. After a 10 minute warm up it shifts fine. It's apparent to me that there is water/ice somewhere in the shift linkage. Anyone had this problem?

There is indeed ice frozen in the linkage, I think that there is a TSB on it.

As noted there is a TSB about the cables freezing but I found that Reline MTL makes a world of difference if the cables are not the problem.

I have this same problem on my '03 MCS. If I push or pull hard enough, it will move. Once it's free, if I move it rapidly 5 or 6 times, it gets easier. As I drive it it works fine once it warms up. The next morning, if it's below 25*, same problem all over again.

I called my dealer service writer twice over two weeks with this info (the TSB) and I haven't gotten a reply yet............
