Mirror in the way

I am tall and the rear view mirror always seems in the way! I am constantly ducking to see around it. Are there any fixes? After market mirrors or ways to move it?
Thanks!

blind spot

Same for me. This creates a huge blind spot for me to the point that I'll probably end up running somebody over eventually. It's pretty much the same in any car I drive, but really pronounced in the mini. Yesterday, I was wondering if I could cut it off and somehow mount it elsewhere or just hold it up like a compact mirror when necessary. I remember old convertibles having theirs mounted on top of the dashboard. greg

I am short and I traded my H2 Hummer because I had to stretch to see the rearview mirror... not to mention the fact that I had to use a broom stick to open the glove box from the driver seat. Not to mention the fact that I couldn't afford to fill the tank. DAMN I wish I would have test drove that Hummer before I bought it. <tongue firmly in cheek>

The remote's electronics live in the mirror. Move/replace/disconnect at your own risk.
I'm 6'5" and have whined about this with all 3 of my Minis. Use body English and visit your chiropractor...

Great it's not just me. I'm 6'6". I'd LOVE to replace my mirror with something smaller and higher up. If anyone finds something please let me know. It's driving me crazy going around ramps to the right and having to duck to see what's ahead.

I ordered a Fresnel lens today to jury rig something to help see the darn signal lights without leaning forward.
There's a company that makes something like this: http://www.lightinsight.com/our_product.htm. But I thought that I'd try something on my own and needed other stuff from Amazon anyway (cig lighter splitter stuff etc).

I'm 6'2" and I also dislike the placement of the mirror.
I started a thread but it seemed not to get much response about lowering the seat beyond OEM limits. This would help us tall folks out by putting our eyes at the same level as someone who is shorter. Something like removing or modifying the seat support frame to eliminate the 3" of empty space between the bottom of seat and the floorboard would defn. help. Or maybe go all out and have the floor cut and modified to 'slam' the seat even lower.

I have this problem sometimes too. Just seems like a smaller reear view mirror would resolve the problem since the current one seems a little bulky.

I think Zach999 has the right idea - lowering the seat presents fewer problems than changing the mirror.

I am 5'7.4827361932" and I also find the mirror to be a major forward visual abstruction.
