Seat Stuck in one position
#1
Hey All,
I have been working on my stereo system, and when I put my seat back in, I find that it will now ony fold up and slide up to let passengers in, then slide back and lock in one position. It slide front and back still, but the recline is stuck.... and recomendations on how to fix this? I am going to the dealer on tuesday for an unrelated issue, but I would like to get this fixed today if possible.
Thanks
Dan

Have you tried resetting the seat? Here's a link that shows how:

I thought I had a similar problem, turned out to be a DSO (dumb **** operator) error.
What happened was that I used the seat back control on the "centre of the car" side of the seat to move the seat forward, then I couldn't get it to go back properly.
Turns out that control is really just the seat back adjuster. Pull it up (push down?) and press the seat back back ito the correct position.
If that's not your problem, I can't help any more.
Good luck.

I had the opposite problem. After vacuuming under the passenger seat, it suddenly lost the ability to slide forward to allow back seat access. The seatback would flip forward, but the base did not slide unless you used the regular fore/aft adjuster handle.
I took it in, and it turned out that a cable had come loose under the seat. The tech snapped a little plastic doohicky back onto a bracket and, poof, fixed.
The fact that you were mucking around under the seat makes me wonder if you disengauged a similar, but different, cable.
