Everyone,
There is a great article in the November issue of Grassroots Motorsports on the MC. Also, a great read on-line at http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com/

For those of you in the process of ordering a MC, they really saw a difference in track times with the Sport Suspension Plus with 16" tires.

Enjoy

Thanks for the link, it is an excellent article, I really hope the power has been underrated by BMW

It is a great article - but they only got a mere 3 or 4 HP and 1 to 2 lbs of torque with $1400 of performance goodies on the Cooper (Mini Mania upgrades) - excluding the springs of course.

Hopefully - more upgrades will produce more Tq/HP in the future as that seems a bit weak for my tastes.

Unfortunately, due to the rules governing the stock classes in Solo II this is about as much as you can do without getting bumped into a modified class. I've been competing in Solo II for a couple of years now and have observed that to be competitive in any class you have to take advantage of what the rules allow (ie - spend $1400 or more to get another couple of HP). Given that you can only change alignment (you can't introduce camber adjustment if the car doesn't come from the factory with camber adjustments), front swaybar, cat back exhaust, double adjustable shocks, lighter wheels (but they have to be the same offset and size as OEM), airfilter (no cold air intake), brake pads, etc. even the gain of 3-4HP and 1-2lbs of torque will mean the difference between winning and losing at the highest levels in Solo II. Regardless of prep, the driver in Solo II competition, especially the stock classes, is 90-95% of the equation.
