I fixed my issue.... I traded the car in and got a clubman S, problem solved

 

I took my car into Flow MINI to have the seatback support replaced to fix the rocking issue. I told them that I had not experienced the knocking noise since they worked on the brakes. They performed the service bulletin for the transmission mount just to be sure that the issue was resolved even though I told them I was pretty sure the noise was gone. I am very impressed with the proactive action taken by them! They are definitely worth the 90 minute drive from Charlotte.

 

Just incase anyone is wondering, the part numbers replaced as part of the TSB for the transmission mount are:

07-11-9-904-575 Hexagon Screw Qty 1
22-11-6-778-429 Hex Bolt Qty 2
