Fuse 37 keeps popping.

Fuse 37 keeps popping.
Okay.
So i just finished a amp/sub install on my cooper s convertible.
after replacing my left rear stop light ; i dont know why i had it out, it was merely usless to take it out because although the "major" ground point is behind it, I just used the ground point near the battery.
Anyways my power locks are very messed up.
The remote doesnt unlock or lock the doors, it merely flashes the lights like it used to.
However the interior door locks do not work at all ( i'm assuming because the remote last worked when i clicked "lock" then the fuse popped i think)
Thats fuse 37 on the top right.
So now i check fuse 37 as some others had said, and it turns out it has popped. I replace it with another 20 amp fuse and it pops yet again after i unlock all doors and lock it again ( it pops here) with the remote.
Theres the two fuses that have already popped
So i think... hmm what did i touch. I remember removing the ground point for some reason just to see and i forgot to put that back on at one point so the car wouldnt start. I did replace it but i just wanted to recheck.
So i take off my left rear lamp and check that it is tight but also see this.
Its a brown wire with a yellow stripe.
Okay now what do I do. Can this be the cause of all the popping of the fuses? If i replace the 20amp fuse again without correcting anything i bet it will pop again.
If so, how should i patch this wire. It seems to be cut almost through with only a few strands still solid.

If you do not get a good answer here google the Bentley publishers technical discussion board . they have a MINI trouble area and are good. not real fast answers though. You can repair the wire with a butt connector.no problem. If you want you may carefully check all of the wiring you came near when you installed the amp and make sure you did not crush another wire. I would disconnect everything I did and see if the locks work, but I would be leary of replacng the fuses too many times as the electronics on a MINI are expensive. I am not a car mechanic, just 33 years of maintenance .

I am afraid without replacing the harness , repairing it is your only option....Solder and shrinkwrap it..it'll be fine. As far as what to do and you bet it will pop the fuse again, I'd bet that I'd fix that wire and put in another fuse and see what it does before I spent anymore time thinking about it.
