What Does PUMA Mean?
I tried a search but couldn't find an answer to my question.
I see people referring to an issue being referred for a PUMA, but I can't figure out what that means.
Thanks

Pants up my *** LOL love that. I believe that PUMA is the central service that the techs can send information electronically to service your car. My car has been in the shop for a week and they keep telling me about PUMA and how they are sending them info and than waiting for a response

+1 with Banjo -- they're the mysterious techies that determine how long your MINI must sit at the dealership before they return it to you un-fixed saying, "well the PUMA guys said it can't be fixed."

For those that want to know what it stands for here you go:
PUMA: P arallel U niversal M essage passing A rchitecture
Pretty much what has been already mentioned as the techs connect you Mini to a computer and sends the information to the factory engineers who diagnose then relay their finds back to the tech for the repair.

You gotta be kidding. What an acronym.
Why not PUMPA?
So its the big head of MINI?
Let's hope MINI is not a male.
I want them to be thinking with the right one.

So, MINI is getting technical assistance from the Prostitutes Union of Massachusetts. Hmm.

I personally like the computer repair technician's description of the "PIBCAK Error".
Problem is between chair and keyboard (PIBCAK)

I was just looking for this - so is JCR correct? PUMA: Parallel Universal Message passing Architecture?
I vote for Rich's acronym - PUMPA!

Pay no attention to the rest of these guys. They're just blowing smoke!
It stands for ... Präzision über MINI Automachinen
It's basically the German name for the software package that BMW uses for the worldwide MINI diagnostic testing.

So it's sort of like "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain..." as the Wizard of Oz said to Dorothy and her pals?
Revray, I'm so happy you posted and am about to quote you on another MINI related website, too.
