Cross reference parts list

Cross reference parts list
Ok- I just completed replacing my power steering fan for about half the price due to a post I found on NAM. (Thanks MikeL !)
So I thought it might be a good idea for us to start a list with know part number cross references. This brings me back to when I use to turn wrenches on my H1. I belonged to a great forum called the HML and we had an extensive cross reference list for the H1.
Ok so here goes...
Power Steering Fan
MINI Part# VA32-A103-62A Spal Part# VA32-A101-62A
Spal part is a direct replacement. The only two items you need to address is to re-use the electrical connector from your old fan & new mounting hardware for the bracket. I used Stainless 1"x 8/32 screws.
I attached two photos. The one shows the Spal fan next to the original Mini part. The other shows the new fan mounted on the bracket.
Joe-

Good idea, but it could get confusing fast.
A lot of MINI part# are changing mid stream. In fact, I have in my hand, a MINI PS fan delivered from Classic yesterday.... Part # VA62-A100-62A with a date code of 163/2008 .
If someone went directly to Spal, a little carelessness and a single digit can mean the difference between a blowing unit and a suction unit.

Hi,
I'm wondering if this fan could also be a replacement?
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/110764312737?...84.m1423.l2649
I'm in need of a possible fan, ps pump, and who knows what else in that area!
Thanks.

I agree with the part number changes. However, this could work if it was listed by component. I have heard that VC bolts/grommets cross with a Chrysler part and are cheaper if purchased that way. Of course there is still a chance that what you get will be different unless you can physically compare it. This is the way of the automotive component suppliers.
