well the ac in my cooper S is down, the compressor doesn't work when i turn on the ac. anyone know what might be the cause of this???

btw i took the car to the dealer to get the radiator fixed ans week ago, do u think they might have messed it up? they messed up my bumper, and crash beam too!

 

See if a wire to the compressor came loose. Or shorted to ground.

 

well i took the car to a mini specialists who is my father friend, and he said that they didnt the ac unit back on right, left a few screws off and i guess didnt recharge it. so i called the dealershit and told them all the flaws that they did, btw they messed up my bumper too!!! so will see what happens tomarrow

 

I'll give this a bump....any luck finding out what your problem was with the AC?

 

my a/c doesn't work either....a/c tech said it needed a recharge, he recharged it for free for me. 2 days later no a.c again!! maybe it's the compressor? it just blows like i only turned on the fan

 

if the tech recharged the system and it worked and 2 days later is back to blowing hot air, you probably got a leak somewhere... have them put dye in the system and see where it leaks from.

you should have 1lb of r134 in the system

Well good luck with yours M!N!-ME! I went to get my diagnosed today and they gave me the grim news that my compressor clutch was fried. And the lovely thing about it is that nobody makes just the clutch so you have to get a whole new unit.
So best of luck with yours! I think we'd all like to know the outcome of it

 

well sorry i haven't updated this, but here is what happened. since the dealer fixed "replaced" my radiator they didnt put the ac lines in the right place so the lines hit the radiator fan and it cut them. so after i took the car back they said it was my fault because the car was low and the front was scraped. then i went off on them the service manager, then he said that sometimes when they put the ac lines back the pop out of place, basically the techs at the mini dealership i went to dont kno what the f*** they are doing, first they didnt put my bumper on the right way, the right side was wayyy off, and they said it was my fault because i scraped the car on the drive home, so i went the serive manager and sent him a pic of my car with all the scrapes on it that was dated months ago. when he saw the pic he didnt say anything and said bring the car back and we will fix it, but i had already fixed it at home!, then they were too lazy to put the ac line back the right way!!!!!

car is fine now and will soo be getting a pullly upgrade!!!!
