Possible bad pulley tensioner... video inside

I'm no expert (no Holiday Inn Expresses here) but that doesn't seem to be a pulley issue but rather a valve lifter/rocker issue. Tapping, especially loud tapping like yours, up on the top of the motor seems to be too far away from the tensioner. Sorry to say, but I think you've got bigger problems than a simple SC belt.

Wait a couple of hours whilst the monkeys digest your information. They'll come back with several viable suggestions. My recommendation would be to drive the car as little as possible until you've got this figured out. Valve lifters/rockers which are misaligned could lead to damage to the pistons, cam, etc. If this was happening to Maggie, I'd have her on a lift truck to the dealership, spare no expense. Heroic Measures!!

With the belt off and you dont have noise you could then could rule out the engine/ valves so on. If you have noise then you rule out the SC, AC, pulley tensioner, alt.
You don't need to lift the motor to take the belt off but a belt tool of some sort to release the pulley tensioner. May find more info if you do a search on a belt change thread. Good luck

UPDATE:
i had the surgical team here and took 3/4 of my engine out in about an hour.
valve train: nothing appears to be wrong
supercharger: nothing
piston heads: nothing...
so basically im gonna see who's got a lower end for sale and vs that against a rebuild on the block as its probably a crankshaft issue.
strange during all of this i never had one idiot light come on.
here are pictures.
my fuel injectors are really nasty
so if anyone has any nice ideas...we're all ears...or a lower block.

Hmm.... i think I know this sound very very clearly.
Must be the chain-tensioner ! Sometimes it goes bad and then the chain does not get the right tension and start to vibrate against the guidings of the chains. This makes some noise then like you mini.
But right now, it is to late to test. Just replacing it which would be maybe 40$ of parts and then starting again would be the best solution, but your head is off and all the other things.

Chibi, Would you mind giving us a little info, I promise not to say anything nasty, just gathering data.
How many miles on the engine?
What oil brand and wt do you use?
How often did you change the oil?
Was it burning oil?
Were you adding oil between changes?
If so, how much and when?
Have you ever run it dry on oil?
Have you ever noticed the oil light come oil?
thanks
