Clubman Rear Door Latch Clicking Open After a Wash???
I have a Week 23 build 2008 Clubman S. I have noticed that when I wash the car, as soon as I turn on the ignition after the wash, the rear door will pop open, and then I hear the latch clicking for a while. If I close it, it will usually pop open again for a while.
Obviously the water from the wash is causing a short somewhere. Any ideas? I don't intend to take the car in for service for another couple of months but thought I would throw this out to see if anyone else has had this problem?
BTW, once the car is dried off, there are no more problems with the door. Surprisingly, this has not happened during a heavy rain.
Thanks in advance,
Rich

I wouldn't wait, if it was my car. What may just be an intermittent problem today may become a major electrical failure without any warning. There's no telling what else may be in danger of shorting out if there's water getting into a wiring harness or other connections. The connections may also be corroding as a result of moisture infiltration.
I'm gonna give my dealer a call tomorrow about it.

I had forgotten to call. Just spoke with my dealer a few minute ago. The SA said she wanted to check to see if there was a bulletin out on this problem and would call me back. She said she would let me know if it should be checked out now, or wait for the oil change. I will update when she calls back.

I've had a recurrent problem with the rear door popping open after parked and locked my clubman. I've experienced this on at least 4 separate occasions. I've ruled out the possibility of incidental contact with the key fob. I'm scheduled to bring her in for service on this tomorrow. I'll post a follow up once I have more info.
