ASC light plus cam sensor engine light?

so whats been happening is when its below 45*f out the asc light comes on. then the next time i start the car(when its still under 45) the engine light comes on and it's the cam sensor out of range/performance. local bmw dealer says that its the steering wheel position sensor, but cant say why the cam sensor would come on with it. I'm thinking that the cam sensor is just bad.

any ideas on if it could be anything else is appreciated.

so I decided to stop clearing the code for the cam sensor and the acs light doesnt come on now so we'll see how tomorrow goes. it just might be the cam sensor going bad causing the problem

I have an '05 MCS with DSC and the DSC light would come on after hard acceleration and then latter the service light came on. Took it in the shop and now they are replacing the cam shaft position sensor.
