Okay, so I got my MC brand new in 7/1/2008 but each time I start the vehicle a RED service indicator pops up for a second saying 7/2008. Did my dealer just forget to reset something or does this happen for everyone?

Also, the rest of the service info, such as oil, says 12000 miles to go, brakes 30k, etc. Just the red icon with the date shows..

 

It sounds like the dealer forgot to set it as they should when the car gets to their facility.

 

I'm not sure what that date means, I think mine's always said 3/2009. I bought the car in 4/2007 and have had it serviced twice, once for the yearly and once due to indicator.
