Small - LEAK, dime size (blue-ish fluid)

06 MCS, 40000 miles, just noticed a dime size fluid drop(s) on the garage floor. Fluid is blue-ish and has a petroleum kind of feel to it, and is kinda to the driver's side, front, 18" in from the driver's side front tire.

Any ideas what on earth this could be?

Just found the thread about the therm gasket leak. Seems to be a problem. I will call and make an appointment to get it looked at. Seems like that is what it is.

Good news is that it is a pretty quick fix. At 40k you should be covered under warranty no questions.

At this point, I am kinda leaning toward asking the local dealer to point me in the direction of an extended warranty company they deal with regularly. Just want to keep damages to a minimum and yes, less than 10K left on factory warranty.

I had the same issue in the same spot. As you have found out its probably a leaky thermostat. Just make sure your reservoir is still topped up and get the dealer to fix it.

Here is another drop. First one since the start of this thread. Looks like coolant to me, what say the majority? It has been 11 days and another drop. Hmm....

Looks like coolant to me too. I had the thermostat housing replaced around 35k, it had a very small crack in it and would leak very slightly. It's a pretty common problem.
