Resetting Tire Pressure Monitor

Hello,
I just put a set of snow tires/wheels on my 07 S and the low tire pressure light (yellow) won't reset.....I've reset the light in the past when I've rotated the tires with no problems so the only thing I can think of is the fact that my cars original wheels have the TPMS metal valves and these winter wheels don't....could this be why I can't seem to reset the light??????

Thanks in advance for your help

Around August 07 (I forget the exact build week), they switched from using the ABS rotational sensors to sensors mounted in the valve stems for the TPM. You're probably had the sensors in the wheels. Actually since you said you have the metal valve stems, then yes it has the wheel mounted sensors. If you didn't move/add new sensors to the new wheels, there is no way to turn off the light.

You could buy the sensors and have them installed I bet. You'd have to find out of the wheels you got work with them.

I think the sensors are pretty expensive...if I recall correctly, someone posted on this BB that four cost them $600?

I think they are more like a few hundred, but that's still more that i want to spend, i'll learn to live with the annoying light for the winter and clear the light when i put my original wheels back on

A temporary solution to eliminate the warning light during winter driving: black electrical tape.

It's not the speedo light thats annoying it's the tach light and "dododo" sound every time you start and stop.

What would it cost to have a local tire shop swap the valves?
