Ticking time bomb noise

ok i stopped at a red light today and turned down my radio so i could hear my pssshhh when taking off, while waiting for green light i started to hear a tick tick tick, its not like the cold engine start noise, its consistant for about 30 seconds then stops, i free reved the engine and it went away about 3000rpm and it just came out of nowhere, my engine was warmed up and its
only 56 degrees here in FL.

any thoughts?

Mechanical Direct Injection is very noisy, that is most likely what you are hearing. there is a few postings in youtube of the motor idling, search for R56, listen, if it sounds familiar then you found your noise, if not... call your SA.
