Automatic Headlight Adjuster?

Automatic Headlight Adjuster?
So, the other night I noticed that my headlight beams seemed to be very low and I was out-driving them at 20 mph...looking closer into the problem, when I turn on the headlights, the beams turn on and then (rather than pivoting up like usual) they pivot down a bit. Since the lights ARE moving, I figure that the fuses and relays should be good and that it should be a sensor? Does anybody know the cause of my problem and how to fix it? BTW, I have an 03 MCS with Xenon lights.

on the rear left control arm - lower arm directly inward from the left rear wheel, there is a small black housing with a plastic arm which pivots with the arm and the black housing has a sensor that sends a signal to tell the car to adjust the height of the headlights.
Perhaps there is something wrong with this sensor or pivoting arm??
good luck!

There is also a front sensor on the right side.
