Fuel cap lock actuator + door lock issues, please help!

Hi to all on here, sorry my first post is a problem related one!

Firstly a common problem i understand, when I unlock the car from the fob, the passenger door doesn't unlock. It locks fine. I find it strange it does one but not the other? Is this likely to be a broken actuator or a electrical gremlin?

Secondly and more irritating, upon unlocking the car, there is a loud screeching type noise (lasts for about a second & difficult to describe) that comes from the fuel cap lock actuator in the rear left service hatch in the boot. Strangely though, the lock on the fuel cap locks / unlocks fine despite the loud 'broken' noise? No noise when I relock the car, just every time it unlocks.

I have looked at removing the actuator but the pipe/ cable from the actuator to the lock on the fuel cap is difficult to put back on! Will I need to remove the rear quater panel to be able to relocate the tube and lock pin into the fuel cap area?

Anyone who's had similar problems or any general input or advice much appreciated!

PS, the car is a Sept 2003 MCS..

Tim

Hit unlock twice. Once unlocks driver, twice unlocks both doors, hatch and gascap if I remember right.

Has never been activated on my car, so its not that! (i've tried just in case it had started to do that by itself!)
