What fuse is this? + rebuilt PS pump question

First question - the other day I was fiddling under the hood and checked my fuses. I was missing (!) a 50 amp fuse, the third one from the "right" or firewall as you stand on the driver's side. The cover has a defrost symbol for this fuse. I replaced it and didn't notice anything differerent in terms of function. What does it control?

Second - I got my PS pump back from BBA a couple of weeks ago, installed it and it works fine. I noticed, however, that it seems a bit louder than I remember. Maybe it's because I had no PS for 5 months Anyway, anyone notice a slightly louder pump after rebuild?

Thanks,

Dave

well just because there was no fuse in the box, doesn't mean it was needed and missing. i'm 100% sure that your car doesn't have the option for whicht that fuse is used... but it will be a good replacement when one of the other ones go bad.

i have never noticed a difference in sound when replacing with rebuilt units...
