Brake pad light

couple'a questions.
1. Was the light on b4 you changed the pads? Cuz if it wasn't but came on since....you did something wrong.
2. If the lite was not on b4, did it come on immediately, or did it take a few days post sensor change?
3. The sensor was on the left front only. It is a wire leading down to the inboard pad, and a plastic piece slid into a slot in the pad...this assumes the pads were installed according to factory spec. Was this the first time the pads were changed by other than the dealer? Did you find and install the sensor?
4. The sensor works by having the plastic part in the pad, hit the rotor and wear away until a wire is broken creating an open circuit. If you were to remove the sensor, the car will see the open circuit and activate the lite. Did you cut off the sensor?
5. Is it possible that your rears have reached needing changing and THAT's what's activated. The rear sensor is on the right rear.
