Recalls

Recalls? Does anyone post Mini recalls or does BMW deny problems exist. Specifically collapse seats?

Never heard of an issue with the seats (unless you mean wear to the foam in the seats from use) Safety related recalls and service bulletins are posted on the NHTSA website: http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/

There are no recalls for "collapse seats" on MINIs. If there was a recall, you would receive a letter in the mail. Or once you brought it to the dealer they would notify you.

I should have just been more specific. The Latch has failed on the drivers seat at 40,000 miles on a 2002. Seat will not lock up or down and I thought it was a significant enough safety failure that perhaps there might be a recall. Now its how do I fix it. Thanks for recall address.

You will probably need to replace the seat back frame.

Be sure it's broken, I reclined the seat in a friends 03 Cooper once and thought I'd broken it as well, turned out the release latch to let it reclines sticks occasionally and it just took a few minutes of toying with it to fix it. I don't remember exactly what I had to do but I remember I was able to get it back to normal with no tools before she came out of the bank. I seem to recall others having this problem as well so I'm sure there's a thread on here somewhere.
