Squeek from using clutch

My R56 MCS (M) is going into the dealer tomorrow.

The gearbox are squeeks (just like something isn't lubricated) when i depress the clutch.

They have determined that its the actuater (black cylindrical part that mounted to the gearbox inline with the clutch cable) that's at fault. But that's just their guess. They also mentioned that i should prepare myself that they may have to drop the gearbox if that new part doesn't solve the problem.

Anyone have the problem as well as a fix for this?
I'm not confident with their workmanship as there have been loads of complaints againt them. I can't get to another dealer as its a 4hour drive away and if they keep the car there, i'll be stranded in another state.

Thanks.

It could be a few things, it only does it when you depress the clutch correct?

Sometimes the pedal itself is squeaking, there is a small metal rod located on your clutch pedal that just needs to be lubricated, and in some cases, the throwout bearing may be going bad and can cause a squeak when applying the clutch.

Well, it happens when i press and release the clutch. It's not the pedal/in the car, the car was jacked up and the squeek was coming from that cylindrical part right next to the gearbox.

You mentioned a throwaway bearing..... where is that located and what is it's function? And how will the mechanic get to it?

Thanks.

Could be the pivot pin on the throwout bearing arm.

I got my car back last Friday, they replaced the clutch bearing. That's the name they gave me.

The sound's gone, for now.
