Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).
Seems like anytime the weather shifts suddenly my MINI's TPMS throws a low tire warning. This happened when the fall weather kicked in last year, and then again this morning. Checked the tires and all were fine, but it did go from 75 this weekend to 32 last night. Anyone else had these types of false alerts from the TPMS sensors?
Yes, in that kind of a swing you can get about 7-8 pounds difference, and if the car registered when it was 75 out and then looked at the pressure when it started at 32 then it thinks i lost a bunch of pressure thus throwing a waring.
It's not a false alert if the tire pressure decreased. The only way for you to know for sure is to use a tire pressure gauge when you get the warning. You may actually be getting the message that you paid for...

Bingo. Tire Pressure Monitoring... sounds like it's doing exactly what it should!
It was 14ºF when I left for work on Monday. Today it's 72ºF. Wbarnhill, Check your pressures and reset the system. I have to do it all the time.
