Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
I've checked past threads and have not seen this one. My wife drove the Mini (2005 s) into the garage closed it up only to come back an hour or so to find the driver's side window 1/3 the way down. She then raises the window comes back in and claims I am messing with the car. This morning the passenger side window is 1/3 down and the sun roof is open about 2 inches back. Now, I didn't check last night to see if this all occurred at the same time but, WHAT GIVES! Is the MINI HAUGHTED! Has anyone had this happen? We leave the car unlocked unless the key is in my pants and NO I AM NOT FAT. It just happens. And I get blamed for that to.
Someone about 6 months ago had kind of the samething I think he was told to look at the body control unit may of been a connection problem. Can't even tell you where to look but your atleast not crazy.
well the only thing i can think of is that if you press the unlock butotn on the remote for a couple of seconds windows will go down and to roof top will open
I'll try that tonight and see if that works. She maybe holding the button to long or the key in my pants? Now all I have to do is get my wife to believe me when I say its I DIDN'T DO IT!
Great,! Miniusa says I should bring the car in right away so I can get their bendover discount and have the service department look it over. Would not want the windows to open in the parking lot and have the car insides rained on. Could it be a security problem?
Well it was the key button. I tried it tonight and it does send both windows down and opens the sun roof. What will mini think of next. Thanks for all of your help. You saved me a trip to the dealership and the expense.
