Okay here's the deal. I have a 2008 MCS and when I start it in the morning in temperatures of 10 degrees celsius I notice that the gear lever is harder to move. Normal right? But is it supposed to be so hard that I have to use force to shift from 1st to second? When the transmission heats up it shifts fine. Some help please...
Doesn't sound right to me. I've driven my base Clubman in very cold weather and not experienced that kind of shifting problem. A little stiff, yes. A lot stiff, no.
Try shifting at a lower rpm when the engine and transmission aren't fully warmed up. I shift mine at around 2000 rpm's when its cold and don't have any problems.
