So last last night on my way home from work the CEL comes on the tach, the one with half the engine shaded in. In the manual it means half power. Plus the one on the spedo of the outline of the engine in orange. Again according to the manual it says an emissions problem.
I took it to the dealer this morning and they reset the CEL and had me drive around the block. Right before the CEL came back on at about 3500 RPM it made a sound and felt like it was "missing"... It kinda sounded like a very muffled putterinig.
After poking around the forum last night I thought it might be the cat but I'm in Vegas and it was about 100 on my way home.
My car is a 2009 JCW with 7200 miles on it. At the dealer the service record shows nothing out of the ordinary, just one thing about a tube being replaced between the turbo and intake.
They are checking it out but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas.

Just in case anyone is curious, the high pressure fuel pump went out. They replaced it and all seems well now.

 

Yea it seems they had a bad lot of those fuel pumps. I have had mine replaced with about the same miles on my car i have a MCS
