Broken supercharger
I think i broke my S/C. It felt like a belt break but when i got out to check it out the belt was still there and the water pump was working..... I had it towed to the dealerchip Monday night. It's Wednesday now and they might..... get to it today. I'll update with any new info.

Yeah ^ .... I'm not sure what "felt like a belt break" means - but if the belt was turning and the water pump was turning, and the engine was running... did CEL come on? Did it just feel like you lost boost but otherwise the car still ran?
If so, could just be a bypass valve or a split IC boot...

well, good news. it isn't the S/C. It was the crank pully. I did replace my crank pully about 14 months ago with a newer (02-05) version. Yes it was used but i didn't think it was that used.
Instead of a $1600 S/C waterpump i'm only gonna spend $400 on a new pully. Still a lot of money but better than i thought it was going to be.
Back to my inital thoughts on it being the S/C. I've broken at least 5 belts at the track. the feeling i was talking about was a sudden loss of power and a few lights coming on. I then expected the water temp to shoot up as it does with the belt breaking. having done this several times in the past i knew to shut down the engine asap. after my sesson was done i got out and checked the belt and it was there..... i was supprised. i fired it up and putted back to my paddock spot. I thought i'd take it for a quick test drive to see if i'd even be able to get it home. That didn't go well. limp mode as soon at it got up to 3k rpm. I could reset it with a simple restart. What i thought had happened was i destroyed the gears in the nose of the S/C preventing any boost from happening. both rotors would turn because if one does the other has to but unwillingly. I knew the car wasn't overheating so the waterpump was going when i'd get in and rev it up is when my eyes couldn't see the belt not turning the S/C. Oh well. like i said at least it will be less than a grand to get fixed. I've heard the S/C's last about 100k miles and i'm less than 150 miles from that.

this is my "third" motor. the second motor was brand new and because it blew 100 miles short of the warranty end. that happened at the VIR with numbers on the side, harness and R-cmpd rubber on the car when it got towed off. I had paid for the extended 4 year/50,000. It was worth it. That motor blew up the #4 piston a year later down at Roebling rd. Instead of a new motor i just had that block cleaned up at the machine shop with a slight overbore bigger pistons to fit the new size and while i was in there a cam. I got it tuned by Jan when he was in town last July. my request was to make it last, not squeeze all the juice out of it. So far so good. I'll be at Lowes motorspeed way this coming friday then VIR that saturday and sunday. Hopefully all is well for now.
