passenger side window problems

This doesn't happen every time but when I go to close my passenger window, the window goes up all the way then goes back down half way.

This happens on my "S" about once a month. Every service visit I have brought the car in for, the dealer has tried to figure out why it is doing this, with no luck. I find it absolutely amazing that Mini can not figure this out , its not like power windows are a new technology, they worked just fine on every car I have owned since 1972. My service adviser did say that Mini is working on a software update for the windows due out in the fall. I guess I will wait and see.

Try the "fix" posted here on the forum; roll it all the way down, hold the switch 15 seconds then roll all the way up and hold another 15 seconds. That should fix it... It worked on mine .

You may want to search other threads on this. My Clubman was doing the same thing. I lived with it until I took the car to the dealer for my first oil change. I told them I had the problem and they did not question it. They did a software update. When I got the car home the up-down problem was solved, but the auto up feature no longer worked. However, a couple of days later it started to work again. This was four weeks ago and so far there has not been one recurrence of the window going up and then half way down.

My advice is to take it to the dealer and have them deal with it.

BTW, they are also going to replace may warped hood scoop, no questions asked. They also re-lubed my sunroof and, so far, no issues with it opening as it is supposed to (it had previously stuck in hot weather).

+1. That is the "fix" I heard from my Mini tech.

He also told me that every week or so, you have to "wind" the window down all the way to "reset" the software. Otherwise, it would lose it position counter or forget where close is.
