Door sill indentations?

Noticed in the last few months 5 or 6 indentations of various sizes and depths where my arm rests on the door sill.

I tried to take pics but the contrast is almost not enough in a photo to discern it. It's the area in the center of the pic below...

Has anyone else had any issues with the door sill being permanently altered simply through the routine, daily pressure of one's arm?

I have the same issue on my Jeep but I don't rest my arm like that in my Mini. No big deal IMO .

Agree that in the grand scheme of things (world peace, hunger, etc), it's no big deal...

BUT...it definitely bugs me and looks crappy (even though it's hard to photograph!) and in my opinion shouldn't be happening in a 13 month old car! It's going in for its first service interval so I'l discuss with the SA, but was curious if anyone had similar issues.

What's strange is that the plastic doesn't seem so malleable that it would respond this way.

I think the door sill is the part that you step over when getting in and out. I think you mean the armrest?

(If you are resting your elbow on the doorsill, you are driving with the door open and have some close simian relatives...)

LOL! Yeah, it's not really the armrest either. I guess maybe it'd be more accurate to call it the "window sill"!

LOL. I can still hear my mother telling me is wasn't safe to drive or ride shotgun with your elbo out the window, so I don't do it to this day.
