Is something disengaging?

I have a 2009 Cooper S, manual transmission. My driveway is on a slight incline. After backing out of the driveway and putting in first, as I drive forward I usually here a click. I have resigned myself into thinking that this is something disengaging. I know there is a feature that keeps the car from reversing when I am on a hill and in gear. Anyone else observe the same thing?

Its your rear pads shifting....you use your parking brake right? usually it takes all of the clearance from in between the pads and caliper bracket and when you go forward, the set of pads shifts back to a neutral position but comes into contact with the other side of the bracket. Pretty normal IMHO.

Disclaimer....if you think it's more than that, because obviously, I can't hear the noise.....have it checked out.
