ABS DSC warning lights on

Same light came on in my 2008 mcs 16,500 miles. Unfortunately closest dealer ship is 400 miles, my son is a certified mechanic and will be taking it to work with him tomorrow to check it out will let you know what he finds out. Sensors are ok, brake fluid was low just a little below the min line, filled up and the light has not come on.

I have this too, going to check it out at the dealer. I'm at 48.5k. Barely under warranty on my 2006 MCS It goes on and off, but it's been going more on than off.
I read some other threads, and one indicated that it was just a sensor failure, then the other one indicated it might have bee a belt that cut into a sensor.
Doesn't seem to be a consensus . . .

ABS and tire pressure sensors both on
03 MC w/ 151K miles serviced by local garage since warranty off. Replaced brakes, rotors and rear shocks last week. Had driven less than 50 m when yesterday both ABS and tire pressure lights went on. Reset tps and both went off until I hit a bump in the road. Repeated this several times.
Took it to Eurosport this morning. They can't get their computer scanner to talk to the brake system. It will take codes from everything else but the brakes. Conventional brakes work fine. They are looking for advice via their on-line network. They do superb work and have taken great care with my MINI for 100K miles. Their customers are BMW, MINI and MB owners who prefer their work to the local dealer.
Coincidence that this happened right after brake work? How DO you know which sensor of four or do they all have to be replaced at the same time to keep them in sync? What's the cost? My Bentley manual shows what looks like a fairly simple procedure, ie labor.
Thanks for any advice. es

I simply wiped them both clean, the driver side front sensor was the dirtiest (I only cleaned the front sensors, not even sure if there are any sensors in the rear hubs). I noted that there was some lube on the top part of the sensor, I'm guessing this helps prevent the hub from corroding and clamping down on the sensor so it can be removed easily. I relubed the top part (the area that that is in contact with the hub) and reinstalled both sensors. Don't put anything on the bottom half of the sensor, this may interfere with it working and will only cause it to get dirty faster.
The triad of lights (ABS, DSC, and TPMS) are all off now and are staying off. Saved big bucks doing this at home. Easy to do and you only need to remove the tires to gain easy access to these sensors. Very easy with the rotors off; I would recommending cleaning these sensors anytime the rotors are replaced or every 24 months, whichever comes first.
No need to go to a dealer or garage to have this fixed...try cleaning them first!

Yep - same here. Had intermittent trifecta of lights. AutoEnginuity reported front left wheel speed sensor was the issue. I cleaned the sensor, also cleaned and used a bit of dielectric grease on both the sensor connector and the main harness to the ABS unit. No more lights, no more codes.

Just brought my out-of-warranty 05 MCSc (40k mi) to the dealer for this issue yesterday (all the lights going on). They identified a bad wheel speed sensor in the front left causing the lights to come on. While it was there, they also found the passenger seat sensor was bad (airbag light was on/off), and that the steering pump had some sort of computer issue that was resetting the computer bus (ie, not mechanical failure).
It's also due for front pads and rotors in the same visit...this was a tough trip to the dealer to swallow...at only 40k mi!

Thanks to lawmann and Blimey for answers. I took the MINI back to the local guy on Friday afternoon reporting what you said. He doesn't have Autoenginuity but knew about it. They have code tools but not the one for ABS/tps - does that make sense? So, that is the reason they can't get a code. They tried cleaning the front sensors and reinstalling but that didn't work - ABS and TPS warning lights still on. Too much of a coincidence that this happened subsequent to brake/rotor work. Now I need to resort to a dealer visit for a code check I guess. Wish I had a better feeling about dealers' service departments especially since I'm no longer a regular customer and a non-MINI business has been doing all the work for several years. Just one of the trade-offs for being 2-3 hours from a dealer.

Fixed
I checked with CMMC friend ernesto who recommended Axels Automotive in Lake Bluff. They got me in for a code check late Wed afternoon and found two problems. At first, no codes showed as they didn't here in SPI. The reason: a couple of broken wires in the ABS harness. It was suggested that at factory installation the harness was too tight and S'd around a metal corner. Over time the rubbing under stress finally snapped the wires.
When the wiring was fixed, then codes appeared. This indicated the second problem: the driver side rear sensor was almost dead. It registered 0.05 ohms and should be 9.0 ohms. It was replaced on Thurs.
Axel has a superb MINI tech. Axel and Nick are great to work with. The work was done as described and in decent time for a reasonable price.

?Location of broken wires?
Hi, I have something maybe related, or not. (03 MCS w/dealer JCW.) Light trifecta PLUS service engine soon (brake fluid fine), speedo not working, and this a.m. defrost buttons don't light up (fan works)...I found Fuse 33 keeps blowing, labeled 'ABS'. If all those are related circuits which wouldn't surprise me given the MINI's incestuous fan wiring, then something like your broken wires in harness would explain. Do you know the exact location where they found the damage?

I replaced my front rotors and pads this past weekend, and in the process I removed and cleaned the Wheel Speed Sensor (ABS Sensor according to the Bentley Manual).
