Interior Lights Out

For some reason my Interior lights will not come on no matter what I do, these lights I am referring to are the Sun visor mirror lights, as well as the center dome light in the middle of the car (on the ceiling) I have checked all the fuses in the driver's side fuse box as well as the fuse box located in the engine compartment! All fuses seems to be fine. I have a 2003 MINI Cooper S, no mods. I live 6 hours away from the dealer! Any ideas how I can fix this at home? Bad BCM possibly? I can't figure it out please help!

My 04 MCS had the same problem when I bought it a few months ago. I believe the fix is to hold both of the dome light buttons for five or ten seconds. I had to do it a few times before it worked. Post again if that does not do it and I will try again to find my source for this and fill in any missing details.

That may be it. If you press and hold the main (center) dome light button, it enables/disables the interior lights. It is described in the Owner's Manual.

I did have to do it a few times before it worked. On my '04 S, there are acutally 3 domelight buttons. For me, it was a matter of simultaineously
holding down both of the outboard domelight buttons (NOT the center button) for 15 seconds or so. I had almost given up that it would work when suddenly, it did work. It was probably my 3rd or 4th try.

thought i'd add my two cents. I have an 03 S and replaced dome light bulb and did what was written here, hold middle dome light button for about 5 seconds and now it works again. strange little car. lol. so many hold the button and stuff starts working again commands with this car. windows, lights, etc...

I know that you said no mods but just in case, did you add LED's to the interior, I did and it gave me a big headache at first, also we're the lights working before? Or is it a new car to you? Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, see if that resets the lights.
6 hours away!!!!!! Oh man I hope it works

to minibx, no mods, and stuck with standard bulb so no LED change. Lights had been working before, just burned out bulb. But pushing the button and holding reset it and all works now. Glad this forum exists! Dealer here in MPLS isnt very helpful but very willing to charge you thousands for any job big or small, lol. I have had the car for 2 years now. Love it. Bought from my sister. very low miles one owner. 39000 on it now. doesnt get driven much.
