Looking to upgrade the front seats on our 04 MINI.......

Will an 06 regular seat fit on 04 tracks in an 04 ?

 

Yep it's a straight swap.

 

Well I put '04 seats into my '05 without any issues. I don't think the seat or seat rails changed from '05 to '06.

I then put the airbags and seat heater elements from a set of '06 seats into the '04's.

So how does one pull the heater elements from the 04 seats and swap them into an 06 seat?

Would you think the airbag connections in the 04 will connect to the connectors on the 06 seats ?

An upholstery shop is the way I went, but others have done it themselves.

The airbag connectors should be fine but the '06 seats have a pressure mat on the passenger seat that won't be connected on the '04.

For me, I had cloth seats and I found a set of cloth/leather seats in red and black from an '04 and of course they have the lumbar adjustment, but I wanted to retain my seat heaters, and my upholster transferred all the good parts from the '06 seats to the '04...unscratched plastic seat backs for example.
